Fanta Orange

In Germany, on my way to Oldenburg, I was sat at a picnic bench at a roadside rest stop for passing traffic, writing in my diary, when a car pulled up near me. Out climbed an elderly woman who spoke to me in Dutch. I asked "Engels?", and she said "Ah, OK, yes, but i thought you were one of the crazy Dutchmen, with your Orange bike." We talked a while, about her son who had cycled in Sweden, and about my trip, and then she said "But i have something for you" ("But of course you might not like it" added her husband, who had joined us) and she headed back to the car. She returned and handed me a bottle of Fanta Orange and said that she had felt them all, and that this one was the coldest. She said it was because of my Orange bike.
They left, and said that they hoped my Orange bike would bring me luck, and that of course it would.

Orange Juice

It was only a matter of time before Orange juice made an appearance on this blog, what with it being Orange and me liking it. Well anyway, today i cycled to Argos to buy a personal FM/AM radio for my trip (no MP3 player for me - I'll be listening to whatever's local). I got a bit thirsty so popped into Aldi and bought some Orange juice (and a cornish pasty, which i highly unrecommended).
In other Orange news, i recieved a phone call from a guy in Worthing today. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing generally, except that this guy worked for a delivery company, and he was trying to deliver me a tripod, and he was on the south coast, and i live in Yorkshire. I guess the DN part of my postcode sounded a little like BN when i ordered it over the phone. Hopefully it will get back up here in time.
Also, i still need a kickstand:

Purple Bike Man

Went on an equipment shopping trip to York today. Bumped into an old friend of my brother's. He's a mime, who's act constists of him painting himself Purple, dressing in a suit that is painted Purple and posing on a bike that is painted Purple, with a dog in the basket that is painted Purple. And his entire outfit is designed to look like it is being blown by a gale force wind. We chatted for a little while, and then we had this photo taken.
